How long will matching take?
It depends how many compatible readers are near you. We wait for real overlap in taste and location, so it can take a few weeks. You’ll hear from us the moment your circle is ready.
When do I pay?
Only once we’ve found your circle. Joining and taking the survey are free; the one-time $15 comes when a local group is ready to meet. Never a subscription.
What if I don’t like my match?
Tell us and we’ll match you again once, at no charge. There’s no obligation to stay with a circle that doesn’t feel right.
Can I choose who I’m grouped with?
Yes. In the survey you can ask to be matched only with people of your own gender (a women-only circle, for example) or to prioritize an LGBTQ-friendly group.
Where does the first meeting happen?
Somewhere public and local, usually a café within walking distance for everyone. Your circle picks the spot together by reply-all.
Do I need to host or organize it?
No. There’s no host and no organizer. We make one introduction, and the group takes it from there.
What information is shared with the group?
Just your first name and a few of the books you named. Nothing is public, and nothing is shared until a match forms.
What if I’m outside Vancouver?
We’re Vancouver-only for now. Sign up anyway and we’ll let you know when we open in your city.
